High Tides On The Potomac: Experience Delicious Dining with Stunning Water Views

This place could be great if they could make a real burger, not serve a pre-packaged one. My fish and chips was very good, my husband's burger was not very good. The restaurant has good atmosphere, a water view and nice servers. All it lacks is the most eaten thing in the U.S.

Our first visit to Colonial Beach and it was recommended to try High Tides for dinner. Our very energetic server JoJo was as sweet as she could be. She was waiting on multiple tables but she always found a moment to come and check on us. Ask for her!! Food was pretty good (forgot to take pics) Pizza was amazing (recommended by Jojo) Hubby had a burger, which he liked . Only downside, we ate outside and the flies were a bit much. But to be expected this close to water and food. Beautiful view outside though. All in all, we would highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

Made the most of it, and it was ultimately worth it for the convenience and price, but I wouldn’t go back there…I’d drive somewhere else. The drinks were so so so bad. The food was mid. I got crab legs and they weren’t the best quality - think inland casino crab legs. The fries were their redeeming quality- so good I couldn’t give the place 2 stars. The service was also so disorganized and slow - even with very few people seated and lots of folks working. Which is all a bummer because this place has SO much potential… it’s beautiful, on the water, and a cute outdoor area with live (albeit very bad) music. Again, so much potential, and why I’m giving 3 stars instead of 2, but I wouldn’t go back unless they get better service, good, and drinks, but you could totally go enjoy a couple beers and look at the water and have a good time.

Food was amazing! The views were gorgeous! Everything about this dinning experience was great! I took my mom here for her birthday and we genuinely had a great time! Something that I didn’t see before coming here was that they use heart healthy oils which is awesome! The food didn’t make me feel bloated or bad afterwords which was quite refreshing for dinning out somewhere! We walked down to the beach while we waited for our food which was really cool! We also went during sunset and sat on the deck which made for a really great atmosphere!

The pizza was pretty good, especially having a few too many cocktails but the atmosphere and music was great both days we went. I recommend you go see the Tyler Nichols Band if you get the opportunity. He's a local and knows how to entertain.

I was excited to drive to Colonial Beach and get some fresh seafood from the Richmond area. When I arrived around noon, the place had been open for about an hour, and there was no one there despite having a huge fest that was ongoing next door. I had a couple of drinks, but still no one decided to order the Rock Fish, Fries, and ColeSlaw. It's not bad, but indeed not something I would even drive locally for. The tarter sauce was simply mayo. I sat at the bar and the bartender was accommodating and nice, but I was super surprised even after I had eaten, only perhaps 1-2 couples came in; the place was empty with like four servers with little to nothing to do. Empty restaurants are showing signs of reputation, trust, and quality.
